Dr. Robert C. Atkins

Born in 1930 in Ohio, USA, Robert C Atkins successfully graduated from Michigan University, and his major area of expertise was Cardiology. When he turned 30 years of age he opened up his own medical practice in New York, aiding his patients by promoting his low carbohydrate diet, largely based on publications in the Journal of American Medical Association.

This led him to write his hugely successful 'Dr Atkins Diet Revolution' book, released for publication in the 1990's, which went on to sell in excess of ten million copies around the world in the following years, and eventually ended up in the top fifty best selling books of all time.
