The Hamptons Diet
The Hamptons Diet closely follows the likes of the Atkins Diet and the South Beach Diet in that it encourages a low carbohydrate lifestyle. A former colleague of Doctor Atkins, Fred Pescatore devised the diet in which participants can eat a much more varied range of food, including some more exotic foods than can be found in the normal low-carb diets.
Low Carb Diet
The Hamptons Diet still involves the initial stages of the low carb plan, the Ketosis induction stage, in which the body changes from using carbohydrates for fuel to eating up the body's fat for fuel.
For those that enjoy a tipple, a glass of wine is allowed on the plan, something that is definitely discourage in the other low carb diets, and foods with a high level of good oils and fats are encouraged, such as nuts, olive oils and vegetables.
What's Different With This Diet?
Food with high levels of carbohydrates are definitely out, so you need to be prepared to cut out any of these food from your daily diet, such as rice, potatoes, pasta, cakes and bread, something that you're bound to miss in the early stages of the diet, but at least with the Hamptons Diet you're able to enjoy a slightly higher amount of carbohydrates on a daily basis, so it's not as restrictive as the other low-carbohydrate diets on the market. Participants of the diet can enjoy up to 30g of carbs per day.
