Low Carb Diet Plan
The Hamptons Diet was created by an ex-colleague of Dr Atkins himself; Dr Fred Pescadore MD, who used to be the medical director at the Atkins Centre in the USA. His hit book, "The Hamptons Diet: Lose Weight Quickly and Safely with the Doctors Delicious Meal Plans" has been described as a breakthrough new diet book.
Macademia Nut Oil and Lo-carbs
The diet was named after the beach community in Long Island New York, and as opposed to the Atkins Diet it focusses solely on the healthy carbohydrates, such as fish with it's amazing Omega-3 fatty acids, vegetables and mono-unsaturated fats, praising the Australian Macademia Nut Oil in particular throughout the book. Also re-introduced are grains and legumes, something that the average Atkins participant misses regularly on their diet.
The diet also allows you to introduce carbohydrates in the form of wheat bread (although any white bread is strictly forbidden on the diet). It seems to be easier to follow than the Atkins Diet, (if you actually had an problems following it), and it is much healthier for you on a daily basis, as it encourages healthy but nourishing foods.

Many Atkins followers complained that their own book concentrated too much on the medical jargon and the science behind the diet, but with the Hamptons Diet it focuses more on explaining how to follow and stick to the diet in the long term. Dr Pescadore introduces many new food types into the low-carb Hamptons Diet, and he breaks the food types into pyramids to help you to understand them fully, and to make an informed decision as to which foods you want to introduce into the diet.
South Beach Diet Similarities
The Hamptons Diet has been compared many times to the very popular "South Beach Diet", but there are crucial differences between the two. Whereas the South Beach diet encourages margarine substitutes, The Hamptons Diet tells you to opt for the more pure forms of fatty foods where possible.
Organic food and unprocessed food seems to get a lot of mention in the diet, and foods that fall into these two categories are definitely encouraged throughout the book. Also good news for those that like a tipple, moderate consumption of alcohol is allowed on the Hamptons Diet.
Hamptons Diet Conclusion
The Hamtons Diet seems to have a massive following, and many people swear by its success. It's no wonder, as the diet encourages healthy eating, something that The Atkins Diet and even the South Beach Diet didn't do too well. There's no doubt that Dr Pescadore focuses on food that reduces the risk of heart diseases and blood sugar illnesses, something that should swing the masses towards this diet.
